Tim’s Worlds

Welcome to Tim’s Worlds, a compendium of the varied and far-flung online empire of Tim Stone (me).
This is lame, I know, but for now all you get a list of my worlds.  No bio, no contact, no nutin’. Don’t worry, I’ll make this much, much cooler real soon.

  • Typo: epilogue - This is part 8 of 8 in the series "Typo."«Typo: clockwise down the drain | After that seminal moment when they both realized that he could do no more for her, and she would do no more for him, she began looking for what she thought she needed in the arms of others. As time went on, she [...]

Sounds

  • Irregular Heartbeat - I've uploaded a new piano piece, recorded the other night after the piano had been tuned. Give it a listen!
  • Solfeggietto - I was exposed to this piece as a child, and it's always been one of my favorites. I had, however, never learned to play it. So a while back I decided to add it to my repertoire, and this is the (current) result. Of course, with classical music, no recording can ever be exactly perfect, and this is no exception. I have a long way to go with this piece, but you'll get the idea when you listen.

Dirt Road

  • Faith Speak - Sometimes speaking those things that are not as though they are is faith. The rest of the time it’s just lying.
  • Inclusivism - Inclusivism is the new buzzword amongst the christian heresy hunters these days.  There’s quite a bit of movement around the world to assert the belief that God has revealed himself to other religions, much like he revealed himself to the Judaism, and then Christianity.  This, of course, is heretical to mainstream christianity.  The orthodox belief [...]

  • One Room Schoolhouse on the Hill - One Room Schoolhouse on the Hill Originally uploaded by Tim Stone Just four miles west of Clinton, Illinois, is this one room schoolhouse, just south of Rt. 54. It’s an original schoolhouse, on its original foundation and site. This makes it unusual. Virtually all one room schoolhouses that survive have either been relocated or refurbished for residential [...]

  • 1Q-1 -

    1Q-1

This is the first night in three weeks that we've had a sky clear enough to take pictures of the moon. It's also the first night in a while that I've even -wanted- to be outside. It was comfortably cool, and taking my moon pictures tonight was a delight!

  • 1Q-1, Again -

This version has some more processing applied. I like it a bit better.

  • Cloudbow and Glory -

    Tim Stone posted a photo:

    Cloudbow and Glory

Coming back from St. Paul on the corporate jet today, the cloud layer was very uniform and was present, unbroken, for the entire trip. I was hoping to see a glory, and wasn't disappointed. When the plane turned, the glory came into view. The sun had been too high for me to see it in the window. I'd been tracking the cloudbow for quite some time, so I figured the glory was there too. As the plane was turning, I was able to capture them both!

  • Favorite Place, Favorite Time -

    Tim Stone posted a photo:

    Favorite Place, Favorite Time

This is one of my favorite places anywhere: this pasture, with its aged and dying trees, its hilltop situation, and it's billions of fireflies.

This is my favorite time of the day: sunset, with its calm breezes. warm colors, crescent moon, and the birds that sing themselves to sleep.

I could take this picture every night of the rest of my life, and never grow tired of it.
